By
RM Naeem Sculpture,
the language of which is familiar to us since millenniums.
Talking about the excavated results of the great civilizations like
Indus valley, Gandhara, Mehergarh and the rest, the three dimensional
forms have always guided us to understand the stories of their
dwellings and have made it possible to understand, with intelligence,
the origin and the existence of human being.
A
feeling of regret is felt when the focus towards these art
forms gets derailed either politically or by social intrusions. History
witnesses when any expression is suppressed. its energy transforms
it into a newer dimension with a changed concept. But there are always
present a group of people, with strong commitment to art, foreseeing
the need and dedicating their lives to keeping this expression alive,
broadening its perspectives as a profession for generations, enalbling
it become part of the surroundings.
Following
the essence, Tariq Usman Luni has worked hard to carve his
thoughts out of a difficult medium and this can clearly be seen in
Connections, which not only involves the viewer in its hidden stories
but also make them admire the handling of forms and the treatment
of their surface. |
